Installation
Download from your account
Log in to windcodex.com (opens in a new tab) and go to My Account → Subscriptions. Download the latest windcodex-sitedocs.zip.
Upload the plugin
In your WordPress dashboard go to Plugins → Add New → Upload Plugin, select the ZIP file, and click Install Now.
Activate
Click Activate Plugin.
Activate your license
Go to Tools → SiteDocs → My License, paste your license key and click Activate License to receive updates.
After Activation
Connect an AI provider
Go to Settings → Connectors (WordPress 7.0) and connect OpenAI, Anthropic or Google Gemini with your API key.
Select the connector in SiteDocs
Go to Tools → SiteDocs → Settings → AI Provider, choose the connector under Select Connector, and click Save Settings.
Generate documentation
Open the Documentation tab and click Generate Documentation.
SiteDocs has no API key field of its own - it uses whichever provider you connect in WordPress.
What Happens on Activation
- The
{prefix}sitedocs_changelogdatabase table is created. - Default settings are saved.
- A daily WP-Cron event (
sitedocs_nightly_scan) is scheduled.
Uninstalling
Deleting the plugin removes its scheduled event. The documentation, settings, notes, license keys and changelog table are kept for a reinstall - unless you turn on Delete Data on Uninstall (Settings → Modules) first, in which case they are all deleted.
