Installation
Download from your account
Log in to windcodex.com (opens in a new tab) and go to My Account → Subscriptions. Download the latest windcodex-switchuser-pro.zip.
Upload the plugin
In your WordPress dashboard go to Plugins → Add New → Upload Plugin, select the ZIP file, and click Install Now.
Activate
Click Activate Plugin.
Enter your license key
Go to SwitchUser → License, enter your license key, and click Activate License.
After Activation
Verify your license
Go to SwitchUser → License and confirm the status shows Active.
Confirm user switching is enabled
Enable User Switching defaults to Yes under SwitchUser → Settings, so no setup is needed here. If it's been turned off, toggle it back to Yes and save.
Configure the audit log
Set the retention period under SwitchUser → Settings → Audit Log to match your compliance requirements.

What Happens on Activation
- The free SwitchUser plugin is deactivated automatically.
- The audit log database table is created (
{prefix}switchuser_log). - Pro settings defaults are merged with existing settings.
- Cron events are registered: daily cleanup (
switchuser_daily_cleanup) + weekly digest (switchuser_weekly_digest).
SwitchUser Pro is a standalone plugin. The free version does not need to be installed. Pro includes all free features.
