Knowledge Base


What Is the Knowledge Base

The knowledge base is a collection of text articles that ShopChat uses to answer questions not covered by the live product catalog. Typical content:

  • Shipping policies
  • Return and refund policies
  • Size guides
  • Care and maintenance instructions
  • Brand story and values
  • FAQs

Knowledge Base Sync

Navigate to WooCommerce → ShopChat → Knowledge Base.

ShopChat automatically syncs the following sources into the knowledge base:

WooCommerce PagesShop, Cart, Checkout, Terms & Conditions, Privacy Policy
WooCommerce Product DescriptionsLong descriptions of all published products
Custom KB EntriesArticles you create manually

Click Sync Now to immediately rebuild the knowledge base index. Sync runs automatically via cron on the schedule configured in settings.


Manual Knowledge Base Entries

Click Add Article to create a knowledge base entry:

TitleArticle heading (used as a context label for the AI)
ContentArticle body (plain text or basic HTML)
CategoryOptional category for organising articles

Articles are stored in the WordPress database and indexed for the AI context window.
