Does ReturnDesk Pro support exchanges for a different product (not just the same product)?

The exchange workflow captures the customer's desired replacement in a notes field. Automatic replacement order creation is not included - your team fulfils it manually.

Can I enable exchanges without returns?

No. Exchanges depend on the returns system. You can keep returns enabled but restrict return-eligible statuses to limit pure returns while keeping exchanges open.

Does auto-restock work with WooCommerce variable products?

Yes. The stock adjustment is applied to the specific variation that was returned, using the variation ID stored in the request items.

Do excluded categories apply to exchanges as well?

Yes, by default. Use the returndesk_pro_is_excluded filter to differentiate behaviour for returns vs. exchanges.

Can the WhatsApp notification be sent to multiple numbers?

The field accepts one number. For multiple recipients, use the returndesk_pro_whatsapp_send action to hook in additional notifications.

What happens to in-progress requests when I change the auto-close days setting?

The new days value applies to all pending requests from the next cron run. Requests that have been pending longer than the new value will be closed at the next cron execution.

Does the partial approval affect the stored quantity for re-request purposes?

Yes. If 3 units are requested and 2 are approved, 2 units are marked as processed. The customer can re-request the remaining 1 unit.
