Undo & Activity Log
Every write tool that supports undo saves a snapshot of the "before" state. A mistaken edit becomes a rollback rather than an incident.
What Can Be Undone
In the free edition, undo covers:
- Posts and pages (edits and deletes)
- Categories and tags (edits and deletes)
The undo window is 72 hours by default and can be set to 96 or 168 hours under General → Preferences.
Two Ways to Undo
- From the dashboard: go to Settings → Windcodex Ops → Activity. Each change under Changes has an Undo button while it is inside the undo window. After undoing it shows Undone; once the window passes it shows Expired.
- From the AI: ask in plain language ("undo that last edit to the About page"). The AI uses
wp_list_recent_changesto find the change andwp_undo_changeto reverse it. These two tools are always available and can't be switched off.
WordPress has no trash for categories or tags. Undoing a deleted term recreates it from its saved name, slug, and description rather than restoring it in place. Posts that had the term are not automatically reassigned.
Need undo across more of the plugin (comments, custom fields, SEO fields, menus, WooCommerce, and more)? That is coming in Ops Pro.
Two Independent Settings
Under Settings → Windcodex Ops → General → Preferences:
| Setting | What it controls |
|---|---|
| Show activity feed | Whether tool calls are recorded in the All calls list. Turning it off stops new calls being recorded. |
| Keep undo history | The undo snapshots. Changes made while this is off can never be undone. |
Turning the feed off does not disable undo. You can stop the call log and keep the safety net.
Activity Tab
The Activity tab has two lists, filterable by Last 24 hours, Last 7 days, Last 30 days or All time:
| List | Shows |
|---|---|
| Changes | Each undoable change: summary, time (UTC), the user the AI acted as, and the Undo button |
| All calls | Each tool call: which tool, when, and whether it completed or failed. Arguments and results are not stored, so sensitive data never ends up in the log |
Click Clear Log to delete the All calls list. Undo history is kept.
