FAQ

Does ReturnDesk automatically process refunds?

No. Approving a return request is a workflow step indicating you accept the return. You must manually issue the refund from the WooCommerce order screen. Automatic refund processing is a Pro feature.

Can customers cancel their own requests?

Yes, while the request is in pending status, customers can cancel from the My Account returns list.

Is the return window calculated from order date or delivery date?

From the order completion date (when the order status became completed). For orders that remain in processing, it is calculated from the order date.

What happens to requests if I deactivate the plugin?

The database table and all request data are preserved on deactivation. Only the transient cache is cleared. Requests remain accessible if you reactivate.

Can I add custom return statuses?

Not in the free version. Both free and Pro use the four built-in statuses: pending, approved, rejected, cancelled.

Can I restrict returns to specific product categories?

Not in the free version. Excluded categories and products are a Pro feature.

Can customers attach photos of damaged items?

Not in the current version. This is planned for a future Pro update.

How do I show the returns page in the navigation menu?

The Returns tab is only accessible from My Account. If you want it in a top navigation menu, use the [returndesk_portal] shortcode on a custom page and link that page in your menu.
