Installation
Download from your account
Log in to windcodex.com (opens in a new tab) and go to My Account → Subscriptions. Download the latest windcodex-shopchat.zip.
Upload the plugin
In your WordPress dashboard go to Plugins → Add New → Upload Plugin, select the ZIP file, and click Install Now.
Activate
Click Activate Plugin.
Enter your AI API key
Go to WooCommerce → ShopChat → Settings and enter your AI provider API key (OpenAI, Anthropic, or Google Gemini).
Build the knowledge base
Go to WooCommerce → ShopChat → Knowledge Base → Sync Now to build the initial product index.
After Activation
Add your AI API key
Go to WooCommerce → ShopChat → Settings → AI Configuration and enter your API key.
Run knowledge base sync
Go to WooCommerce → ShopChat → Knowledge Base and click Sync Now to build the initial product index.
Enable the widget
Go to WooCommerce → ShopChat → Settings → General and set Enabled to Yes.
Test the chat
Visit your shop front end - the chat widget should appear in the bottom-right corner.
What Happens on Activation
- Logger database table is created.
- Default settings are saved.
- Knowledge base sync cron is scheduled.
