Connecting an AI Platform
WindCodex Ops works with any platform that supports the Model Context Protocol (MCP) as a client, including Claude and ChatGPT. Authentication is OAuth only.
Everything on this page lives under Settings → Windcodex Ops → Connection.
The Connector URL
https://your-site.com/wp-json/windcodex-ops/v1/mcpPaste this into your AI platform's custom connector settings. The Connection tab also shows the OAuth discovery URLs that platforms use to find the authorization and token endpoints.
| Endpoint | Purpose |
|---|---|
/.well-known/oauth-authorization-server/wcops | Authorization server metadata (RFC 8414) |
/.well-known/oauth-protected-resource/wcops | Protected resource metadata (RFC 9728) |
/wp-json/windcodex-ops/v1/oauth/register | Dynamic client registration (RFC 7591) |
/wcops-oauth/authorize | Consent screen |
/wp-json/windcodex-ops/v1/oauth/token | Token exchange |
Access tokens last 1 hour and refresh tokens 30 days. Public endpoints such as registration and token exchange are rate-limited per IP.
Automatic Registration
Most platforms register themselves from the discovery URLs, so all you do is paste the Connector URL and approve the consent screen.
The OAuth auto-registration toggle controls this. Turn it off to restrict connections to the static client only.
Static Client ID and Secret
If a platform cannot register itself, paste the Client ID and Client Secret from the Connection tab into that platform's Advanced or OAuth settings instead.
Connected Apps
The Connection tab lists every AI platform that has connected, and which WordPress user it currently acts as. Click Revoke next to any app to cut off its access immediately.
Who Can Approve a Connection
Only users allowed by Who can connect (under General → Connector) can approve the consent screen: Administrators only by default, or Editors and above. Anyone else sees a message that their account is not allowed to connect AI apps.
Every connection runs as the person who approved it, with that person's own permissions. There is no shared or fallback account. If that user later loses the required role or is deleted, their connections stop working immediately.
Add a New Connection
The Add a new connection panel explains how to point an AI platform's own connector settings at this site.
A connected AI acts as the WordPress user who approved it, with that user's permissions. Approve connections from an account with only the capabilities you are comfortable delegating.
