Troubleshooting

"Switch To" Link Not Appearing

1. Confirm Enable User Switching is on.
2. Check you're allowed to switch - you need edit_users, or a role checked under Allowed Switcher Roles.
3. Check the target account: administrators and accounts with equal or higher privileges never show the link. See Role Hierarchy.

Switch Back Not Working

1. Check that your browser accepts cookies and the switchuser_origin cookie exists.
2. If the Session Duration has passed, switching back isn't possible - log in to your own account normally.
3. If you used Switch Off, use the Switch back now link on the login page.

Admin Bar Controls Not Showing

1. The target user's admin bar must be enabled (Users → Profile → Show Toolbar when viewing site).
2. Your theme must call wp_footer() so the admin bar can render on the front end.
3. The Viewing as controls only appear while you're switched.

Landed on the Wrong Page After Switching

Administrators always land on the WordPress dashboard after switching - WooCommerce then sends customers to My Account. See Smart Redirect.
