WindCodex SwitchUser

Overview

WindCodex SwitchUser lets administrators - and roles you allow - switch into another user's account with one click, without knowing their password. You see exactly what that user sees. The admin bar shows Viewing as [name] while you're switched, and Switch Back returns you to your own account.

How It Works

You (administrator)

    ├-- Click "Switch To" in the Users list, a user's profile,
    │   a WooCommerce order, or the admin bar "Switch User" search

SwitchUser checks:
  ✓ User switching is enabled
  ✓ You're allowed to switch (edit_users, or an Allowed Switcher Role)
  ✓ The target isn't an administrator or equal/higher rank

    ▼
Signed switchuser_origin cookie remembers your account
    │
    ▼
You're logged in as the target user
  ← Admin bar: "Viewing as [name]" + Switch Back + Switch Off
    │
    ▼
Click "Switch Back" → cookie verified → back to your account

SwitchUser doesn't require WooCommerce, but adds a Switch to Customer box to WooCommerce orders when it's active.
