FAQ
What is the difference between Ops and Ops Pro?
Ops covers everyday content management (posts, pages, media, SEO, site structure, site health) and is free with no license key. Ops Pro (coming soon) is a separate, standalone plugin that includes everything in Ops plus WooCommerce, users, custom fields, page builders, security and backup, and advanced admin: 246 tools in 12 groups.
Do I need to install both Ops and Ops Pro?
No. Pro is a complete replacement, not an add-on. Activating one automatically deactivates the other, and settings carry over because both share the same settings storage.
Can the AI run arbitrary code or SQL?
No. Ops has no code-execution capability of any kind. The AI can only call the fixed list of tools the plugin ships with. For PHP, WP-CLI, or arbitrary SQL, WindCodex Forge (coming soon) is designed for test and staging sites.
How does authentication work?
OAuth only. Most platforms register themselves from the discovery URLs on the Connection tab. If auto-registration fails, paste the Client ID and Secret from that tab into the platform's Advanced or OAuth settings. You can revoke any connected app individually. See Connecting an AI Platform.
Which AI platforms can connect?
Any client that supports the Model Context Protocol (MCP), including Claude and ChatGPT.
Can I undo a change the AI made?
Yes, for post and page edits and deletes, and category and tag edits and deletes, within the undo window (72 hours by default, up to 168). Undoing a deleted category or tag recreates it rather than restoring it in place. See Undo & Activity Log.
Will it work with my SEO plugin?
Yes. Yoast SEO, Rank Math, All in One SEO, and SEOPress are auto-detected.
Can I turn off specific tool groups?
Yes. Each of the 5 groups can be switched off independently under Settings → Windcodex Ops → Tools.
Does it affect site performance?
No. Tools only run when an AI platform calls them, and the only scheduled job is the optional weekly activity summary email. The only front-end work is a quick check for redirects you created with wp_create_redirect and serving a custom robots.txt if one was saved.
What happens to my data if I uninstall it?
By default everything is kept in case you reinstall. Turn on Delete all data on uninstall under General → Data & Privacy first if you want a full cleanup.
Is any data sent to WindCodex or a third party?
No. Tool calls run locally through WordPress APIs. The plugin talks only to the AI platform you connect. It collects and transmits nothing.
