User Grants
Per-user grants narrow switching permissions for specific users. Administrators set them on a user's profile (Users → Edit User) in the SwitchUser Pro - Granular Grants section.
| Field | Effect |
|---|---|
| Who can switch into this account | Only these user IDs may switch into this user. Leave empty to allow any permitted switcher |
| This user can switch only to | This user may only switch into these user IDs. Leave empty for no limit |
Enter user IDs separated by commas. They're stored as the user meta switchuser_allowed_actor_ids and switchuser_allowed_target_ids.
Grants restrict - they don't give extra permissions. The switcher must still be allowed to switch (the edit_users capability or an Allowed Switcher Role), and the role hierarchy still applies.
Examples
| Goal | Setup |
|---|---|
| A support agent may only access their assigned customers | Allow the agent's role under Allowed Switcher Roles, then set This user can switch only to on the agent's profile to those customers' IDs |
| Only your support lead may access a VIP customer | On the VIP's profile, set Who can switch into this account to the support lead's ID |
| Nobody may access an account at all | Use Locked Users instead |
