Switching Back
Click Switch Back in the admin bar to return to your own account.
What Happens on Switch Back
- The
switchuser_origincookie is read and its signature is checked. - You're logged back in as your original account.
- The cookie is cleared.
- The
switchuser_switched_backaction fires. - You're taken to the WordPress dashboard.
Switch Back vs. Switch Off

| Switch Off | Logs out of the switched account and opens the login page. The login page shows "You switched off your session." with a Switch back now link |
Use Switch Off to see the site as a logged-out visitor, then click Switch back now to return to your account.
If the session has expired (after the Session Duration), switching back is no longer possible - log in to your own account normally.
