Undo & Activity Log

Undo & Activity Log

Every write tool that supports undo saves a snapshot of the "before" state, so a mistaken edit is a rollback rather than an incident. Ask the AI to undo in plain language, or it can call wp_undo_change.

What Can Be Undone

AreaCovered
ContentPosts, pages, categories, tags, category and tag assignments
CommentsEdits and deletes (deletes go to the trash)
FieldsCustom fields, term meta, ACF repeater rows, Pods fields
SEOSEO and Open Graph fields (Yoast, Rank Math, SEOPress, AIOSEO, native)
MediaTitle, caption, description, featured images
NavigationMenus, menu items and their order, Links Manager links
WooCommerceProducts, coupons (deletes go to the trash), stock, tax rates

Undo Window

Choose 72, 96, or 168 hours under General → Preferences → Undo window.

Limitations

⚠️

WordPress has no trash for taxonomy terms, Links Manager links, or nav menu items. Undoing a delete of one of these recreates it from its saved fields. Post and menu associations to a deleted term are not reassigned, and a recreated link or menu item gets a new ID.

  • A deleted ACF repeater row comes back appended at the end of the repeater, not at its original position.
  • Undo does not reverse an order refund that has already been sent to a payment gateway, an email already sent, or a plugin or theme update. Use wp_rollback_update for updates; see Security & Backup.

Two Independent Settings

SettingWhat it controls
Show activity feedThe visible Activity tab (cosmetic)
Keep undo historyThe undo safety net

Turning off the feed does not disable undo.

Alerts

Enable Email alerts on high-risk tool runs and the Weekly activity summary under General → Preferences.
