Switching Back
To return to your original admin account, either:
- Click Switch Back in the admin bar, or
- Navigate to SwitchGuard → Switch Back in the admin menu.
What Happens on Switch-Back
- The
switchguard_origincookie is read and its HMAC signature is validated. - If valid, the original admin's session is restored.
- The
switchguard_origincookie is cleared. - The
switchguard_switched_backaction fires.
Switch Back vs. Switch Off
| Action | Effect |
|---|---|
| Switch Back | Returns to original admin session |
| Switch Off | Logs out of target user session; does NOT restore admin session |
Use Switch Off when you want to end the switched session and log in fresh as yourself.
