Quick Start

Enable switching

Enable User Switching is turned on by default under SwitchGuard → Settings, so you're ready to go. Turn it off there if you'd rather require an explicit opt-in.

Review the frontend bar

Enable and customise the bar that appears at the top of every frontend page while you are in a switched session.

Configure the audit log

Set the retention days to match your compliance requirements.

Optional: add an IP allowlist

If switching should only be possible from specific office IPs, configure the allowlist under Settings → Security → IP Allowlist.

Optional: enable email notifications

Turn on per-switch email notifications under Settings → Notifications for a compliance record.

Test the full flow

Switch to a user, verify the frontend bar appears, switch back, and check the audit log entry was created.
